First Giveaway Sketch

This is the home of Maryann from mariondee-designs blog.
Isn't it cute?
I was happy when she won my sketch giveaway
because she always leaves me nice comments.
It is nice to do something for someone like that.
After this post you might like to visit her blog, it is very shabby!
I asked Maryann to send me a picture of her home.
From the emailed picture I first do a basic pencil sketch.
Then I outline it in a fine ink pen and do the detail work.
Here it is without any colored pencil yet.
Maryann sent me several pictures and you can see one of them on my monitor.
She gave me poetic license to add a water fountain and flower beds and
a rose arbor...I thought a lamp post with climbing rose would be nice too!
This is a closeup of the black and white sketch.
This is the main picture I referenced for my drawing.
I personally love yellow houses~they are so happy.
After I get her address I will add her house number to the sign.
This is the scanned sketch from my computer.
As soon as I get her address and the snow stops this will be
on its way to Maryann.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well the snow keeps coming~we are getting another 1 1/2 feet!
Sketching was a great way to spend a snowy afternoon!
  5. I just adore your sketches. You captured the sunny happiness of this home- what a lucky winner! I'm snowed in too- we're supposed to get over an inch of ICE! I can't complain though because I did not have to go into work today. Stay warm and enjoy your week!
  9. Isn't this pretty! It's like you also gave her a landscape plan too! If I'd known you were going to embellish...I would have asked you to add the window boxes I want on my house! I love the way this turned out. I bet she is thrilled.
  11. Third time is a charm, they say. I hope so, because this is time #3 that I've tried leaving a comment and my internet connection keeps failing. Argh!
    Amy, this is so adorable. I always love seeing your sketches. In fact, I had just visited your sketch page a few days ago, admiring them all.
    I am sure she's more than thrilled with this.
    I agree with Nita...love the added landscaping!
