Wishing this was a "welcome springtime" post...
but instead April brought snow to Boston.
Every morning Dillon needs to go for his walk.
He doesn't like cold or wet conditions.
Neither do I.
The yard is covered in a wet snowy blanket.
There are tulips trying to come up near the tree bench.
Hopefully this will be the last snow until next Christmas....
I am really ready to get some pots of pansies,
the first flowers I buy at the nursery each spring.
The green of the tulip leaves are barely visible.
Dillon has had enough and is ready to go back inside.
I am happy I resisted putting up my spring time wreath
and bunches of forsythia in the urns.
It would look all wrong today.
All of my watering cans were gathered here
with the promise of spring and summer,
yet here they sit frozen under snow.
Mom, let me in in!
Little Tobey gets to run free when we take our morning walk.
He wanders off and eventually comes back.
Being a shih tzu, he loves the snow,
but Dillon and me~ we have had enough.
Amy we had some snow here in NY this morning too but just a dusting,I can't wait for warmer Spring weather!! Your pooches are adorable, we have a Toby too but he's a pomeranine. Have a great weekend, Martina
ReplyDeleteI was a little blah this morning till I saw your Toby! Have a great weekend. Thanks for spreading some of your sunshine my way! Hope you get a break from bad weather soon.
ReplyDeleteI so hope we are done with snow for the year! Sure makes for some beautiful pictures, though!
ReplyDeleteUgh.... I am so tired of snow too Amy!! I have been so happy the past couple of days to see it all melting away~ Hope your fresh now melts away soon. Your little Tobey looks so sweet at the door!!
ReplyDeleteBut Amy, beyond the snow, your home outside is such a bucolic setting! Looks straight off a calendar.

I'm with Dillon, I've had enough, too! We have had some rain and hail this morning with a few flurries thrown in for good measure, Amy! I'm on Long Island and I heard you folks in Boston got the brunt of this. To make all this worse I can only get one radio station to tune in at the day job and for some strange reason they decided to play Christmas music today!
ReplyDeleteMother nature is playing an Aril Fool's joke on us!! It feels like the never ending winter... Calgon, take me away!!!! I have a bunch of sap buckets I am stenciling numbers on for planters, I thought maybe I could stencil house numbers on them and they have a place to put an S hook on to hang! Maybe some sweet potato vine dripping out along with some Pansies... perfect for spring, when it finally decides to arrive!!
ReplyDeleteOh My
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a winter wonderland
Loved the adorable pic's of your puppy
Thanks for the fun post
I wish I could send you some sunshine
xo

Sweet babies!!! Snow is so beautiful...the warm sunshine will come soon! Still cold here but at least the sun is shinning :)
ReplyDeleteWe've had rain for days on end and it was even 40 degrees here this morning. For us southerners, that's freezing. I know you are tired of the snow but all that white sure looks pretty up against your lovely white house. Maybe we'll get sunshine soon! I love little Tobey's peering through the glass door! So cute.
ReplyDeleteYour pups are so sweet! Love the floral window decor in your first photo. Here's hoping your snow does not last..beautiful as it looks. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute post...your dogs are precious! It looks like they like the snow, even though we are tired of it! Your home looks gorgeous on the outside {and matches the inside}!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Your dog looking through the door is priceless!!! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteCan you send me some of that lovely cold snow? It was 90 here yesterday and we had to run our air, it's too early to be running it! I don't like sweating in April!
Your furry babies are precious!;) Hugs,Rachel

Ha, ha to the pics of Dillon and Tobey... they are special guys! My Dobies don't like the cold and snow either. :)
ReplyDeleteLori
Sorry you are having more snow. So hard to believe. The sun is out here and it's warming up rapidly. Poor Dillon....he's like most of mine. Only Violet enjoys being out in it because of all her fur. I don't know...looked like Tobey was saying...let me in.
ReplyDeleteOh wow!
ReplyDeleteWe are finally getting the sweet sun....and I am happy about it. Warm up some cocoa and stay in bed! Fun and cozy.....
I take it this is not an April Fools post. The pictures are beautiful but I imagine you are tired of it. So Dillon and Tobey doesn't care for the snow? My girls would LOVE to be out and about in all that glory.
ReplyDeleteI know you probably don't want to hear this but it really is very pretty! Hopefully the sun will come out very soon for you.. take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteThe snow is pretty but I'm sure you are sick of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you some rain (we have lots!) and green!
Dillon is such a doll! Pitbulls are so misunderstood..they really are a lovely, affectionate breed!!

can you believe this weather on april 1st?? I could have taken the same photos as we are 1/2hour from boston! :) chris p.s. love your blog-
ReplyDeleteAnd here we are in the South grumbling because the temps have only been in the 50s and 60s the last few days. The 80 degree days of last week spoiled us. I know y'all are tired of the cold and yuck.
ReplyDeleteand not just a little bit, that is a lot of snow. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteAmy, I feel your pain...we got snow two days ago and enough is enough already...I guess we will enjoy spring that much more when it finally does arrive. I'm going to say a lot of prayers:o)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Carrie
It sure looks beautiful! We don't get snow where I live. Both your dogs are cuties!
ReplyDeleteI agree enough is enough! We got a few more inched too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Carolyn
Wow... I can't believe you're still getting snow where you live, Amy. It was in the 80s here yesterday... a bit too warm for me for this time of year. We had to turn on our AC for the past couple of days. Your dogs are too cute, btw!! Hopefully, that snow will melt soon for you, and you'll get to enjoy your beautiful tulips.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
~ Jo :)
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteWhere I live it has never, ever snowed, well at least not in the 45 years I've lived here...Is it bad if I say the snow in your pictures is just gorgeous to me? But I can certainly understand that too much of a good thing is not good :-) Hope you enjoy beautiful, sunny, Spring days soon. Have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteWhat cute puppies! And a gorgeous home. We are still having winter weather here in Michigan as well, our flowers haven't even popped through yet!
ReplyDeleteWow... this is the craziest year... but hung in there; spring (must be) is around the corner! ;)
ReplyDeleteCielo
Oh I hope that is your last snow too! I am sure you must be sooooo ready for spring. My parent's got snow this week too. Fortunately we haven't gotten any here in VA or I would go crazy!
ReplyDeleteSnow is so pretty but so blah right now! I hear ya, we in Ohio woke up to snow the other day. I closed all of the blinds lol. I'm wishing spring comes soon for both of us!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog - thank you for sharing your amazing home - I want mine to be beautiful and homey like yours one day. I also am drawn to your dogs - especially Dillon - I have a Rusty that is like Dillon and he is my baby. Soft spots for those who love our big babies :)
