The french cabinet looked pretty on the outside,
but flat and dead on the inside.
Enter Antoinette~the newest color from Annie Sloan.
The idea of chalk paint is to not be a fastidious neatnik.
Just paint away~
My cabinet with two coats of the Antoinette~
I am happy it looks much like my inspiration photo below~
The photo of the cabinet on the left from the book
Pale and Interesting is what inspired the interior pink paint choice.
Often times I will see a photo and know right
away that I will translate the look to a piece I own.
All of the pink lusterware cups and their friends
patiently wait to get set up in their new home.
Its pink and its chalky and very sweet.
The aqua majolica looks grand against the pink.
So does powder blue (oh yeah! pink and blue go together)
A collection of pastel treasures~
Amy -- absolutely luscious! I've got a bookcase that may need to be "antionetted".
ReplyDeleteAlso, great photograph with that last picture -- just drew me in!
Oh I've been dying to try the antoinette! It looks lovely! I wish my husband would let me do this is the common areas of the house but alas, I am limited to the girls rooms only! lol.
ReplyDeleteYour dishes look perfect against the pretty pink background!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful with that new color inside. That piece fits perfectly in your home! I'm loving that last pic with the iron bench and pretty pillows. I have no idea where that is.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Amy! When I saw it on Pinterest I was thinking......ASCP has pink? Your blog answered that question. AND yes! Pink and blue DO go together. I have the MOST comfy couch from the 80's that is pink and blue that we have downstairs. Perhaps someday I can bring it back up to join the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteLove your style!
Very pretty, Amy! I love this color and it does go well with the blue! Perfect for your room. Love all your pieces of china, too!

It looks just like your inspiration picture!! I love that desk, the pink is really pretty addition to it too. WOW, did you put any wax clear or dark on it?
ReplyDeletePerfect display. I love the cup on its side to display the inside. I pinned one picture, hope you don't mind. Lori
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect Amy! Wanted to comment on your comment today, too -- I love rooms of all styles when they are well done. Many of my favorite rooms are more "your" style than "mine." That's why I love your blog so much - even though my house isn't this style, I love it, and think you are an absolutely master at it....as good if not better then some of the ones you admire!

ReplyDeleteMy guess is the dining room.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! The pale pink beautifully accents everything in the cabinet.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty I love the china.

Pinkalicious! Just beautiful. Love all your dishes displayed too!
ReplyDeleteYour armoire looks lovely!!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the ASCP in 4 colours, including the Antoinette, which I'm dying to try. I've only tried the Old White and the Duck Egg so far and I love it. Thank you for saying that you can't be a neatnik with this paint, because I'm used to latex going on evenly, but I realize now that the chalk paint is supposed to go on somewhat unevenly to achieve the "look".
Ohhh, YUMMY! Love, Love, the pink transferware against the soft pink interior. And where is that in your house, with the gorgeous pink and blue chintzy fabric??? I don't recognize it!
ReplyDeleteCindy
Amy,
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so pretty and feminine and goes with your little pink house (which doesn't look so little btw) :o)

It looks fabulous!!! I am about to paint a similar sized piece and am torn on what to do for the back. It's fun seeing what other people have done, especially you! Your pieces are always gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love this Amy!!!! Pink is my favourite colour!!! This looks heavenly!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love it. I picked up a china cabinet on CL for 40$. I am painting the outside old white, and then chateau gray and the inside, ta da, antoinette! I just finished my other big ascp,(bathroom double cabinet), so now I can start my cabinet. Yours looks beautiful.
