Gilding waxes~add luxe to your pieces

Today I spent a little time making some samples to show off the different types of
gilding waxes that I will soon have in the shop.  Gilding waxes
are easier to use than real gilt, and it is a way for you to elevate your
painted piece with just a touch of your finger~
the Midas touch!
This sample of French Linen Chalk Paint® is dressed up with King Gold Gilding Wax.
Here you can see the 4 different gilding waxes available~
Renaissance Gold, Silver, Empire Gold, and King Gold.
They are wonderful to add to Chalk Paint® finishes for a special look.
They are wonderful when added to Milk Paint too! I guess so,
since this Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint table in Shutter Grey
sold today! I added little swipes of King Gold to it and it changed
the look from country to Shabby Chateau!
A soft touch goes a long way in my book~here there is a touch
of King Gold added on a French Linen Chalk Paint Armoire door.
Can you tell I like the color Gold? I used to be all in love with Silver,
but now its Gold Gold Gold baby!! My pretty gold phone is NFS
(not for sale) so don't even ask (or beg) because I had a dear retired
friend fix it so it works perfectly~
but for now it is a prop on my pretty desk.
Its in the front window today because I sold the vintage patio set
I had sitting there! Today was a big day for sales in both paint and furniture.
This desk might be getting a touch of King Gold next!!
And then it just might fly out the door too.
So goodbye to my little Parisian coffee table~
Anytime I sell something I get to move alot of the furniture around,
which I LOVE to do!
My house furniture has never sat in the same place this long...
and its because I am doing this now.
There is the Chateau Gray mora clock I am custom painting~
and another white mora is next...
For now its all about the Gilding waxes~
kind of similar to rub n buff products,
but I consider it a cut above.
I will be adding it to both my physical store as well
as shopmaisondecor.com
So look for it soon~!
Add a little glitz and glamour to your pieces~
maybe even your shoes!!

  2. I love me some gilding wax. I love how it just blings up a piece of furniture. Ones I've used the gilding wax on have been so popular.

  3. Ok....I MUST try a couple of those waxes, Amy. I've been using Rub & Buff, but I'd love to try your waxes out. Are you carrying them in your shop? How much are they? Love the bit of glitz they add to a piece! ♥

  4. I've used rub'n buff, but haven't seen the gilding waxes before. I had also never heard of a Mora clock before, but now every time I see them on your blog, I want one. The bad thing about an open floor plan is lack of wall space for lovely things like Mora clocks. :\

  5. I love that look. In fact, every time I sit in our church, I stare at the grey ceiling with gold accents. I need to try this. Thanks Amy!

  6. My mom had that same phone in her bedroom when I was a kid. It made a funny little sound right before the other phones rang so visitors thought we were psychic when we would get up to answer the phone before it rang.
Love the gilding, thanks for sharing.

  7. I will be really interested to see how you apply the wax. I am almost finished with my 2nd Annie Sloan project, a little table in French Linen, and I think the gold would look great. I was going use some Old White to hi-light it, but think the gold would look better. Please too let us know where it can be purchased, and if I can't find it, would you ship?? I live in CA.

  10. Amy, my girlfriend and I have a shop on the OR coast. I agree with you about furniture moving--I used to constantly be redecorating and rezhushing my home. Now, with the shop to constantly fluff, my place is stuck in a 2010 time warp!!! I love your blog and will definitely come see you if I make it to your part of the country. In the meantime, know that the time and effort you spend writing your blog is appreciated! Allegra

  12. Very pretty. I love the phone, too. I always wanted one, I remember seeing them when I was a kid. I can't remember if they were for sell or if I saw them in someones home, but I wanted one!

  14. I posted something recently where I used Rub n Buff, and someone asked me if it was the same as guilding wax. Honestly, i had no idea and still don't! But this is every bit as beautiful!

  15. Great product - the golding wax. I also elevate some pieces with gold as well - but I have found when I just use the painted gold...when I put the waxes over them, it kind of loses it's edge. Glad you will be carrying this!

Love the King Gold on the MMS milk paint too - beautiful.

Looking forward to your big news!!!
