This big antique box came with this pretty paint finish in aqua blue.
It goes nicely with my frenchy blue-green chairs
But I wasn't ever thrilled with my purple transferware collection
hanging over the big aqua box.
So what's a girl to do?
Marry the colors by using the perfect fabric!
This cotton and linen blend had the right colors to do the job.
I had been looking forever and finally found it.
The pattern was appealingly vintage in flavor.
So now all of my favorite purple things look just right in this room!
I created eurosquare pillow covers, 27" square,
and added self ties on the opposite ends to create a matched pair.
Fabric was the preacher who tied the knot
between pretty purple and awesome aqua.

Oh man, that totally "did it"! Pretty pretty fabric. The colors are so soft and cool, and almost watery... the pillows complete the scene perfectly.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's amazing how fabric can tie things together. Back in high school most of my friends and I sewed our own clothes. We learned amazing color combos that way. I'm not sewing many clothes these days, but I haven't bought a ready-made pillow in ages. "Have fabric: will sew!" :-) So much more fun to shop for just the right fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric!
ReplyDeleteMr. and Mrs... purple and aqua ... make a beautiful couple!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day!

ReplyDeleteThat is perfect! I am in LOVE with that fabric. Those colors are so serene, romantic and flawless together. Those are Kalyn's (my 16 yr old) favorite color combo so I'm going to show her this. I love the post where you show the aqua and purple glassware together too. So pretty, Amy!
