This wallpaper was made to go with this mirror it seems~
I never was a big fan of accent walls, but that has taught me the
lesson of "never say never".
A rich greeny blue with old gold damask pattern that
changes from light to dark like a hologram.
Sometimes it looks soft other times it looks bold.
It looks really pretty with pink accents
This dressed up old world looking paper came from
none other than Lowes! It caught my eye and held me in
the aisle and wouldn't let me go.
So I kept staring at it and finally determined it
would look lovely used inside my office desk for a little surprise.
But it turned out this wallpaper was determined
to be center stage, not some after thought in an upstairs desk.
Two hours later here it was, all pasted to this wall!
After all, it looked like the perfect
companion to my chairs and the mirror in the room.
It played nicely with pink too~
It gave this space that glam lift every room can use a tad of~
If I did the entire room it would swallow it up alive,
but on this one wall it adds a sophisticated touch.
I won't have to tell anyone it came from Lowes,
unless I want to share this secret (like I did with all my blog buddies)
The dining room isn't done yet~
Your accent wall is beautiful. That wallpaper really does look like it's meant for the room. The colors blend so well. Love the furniture in the room, too!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I am in love with those colors too!
ReplyDeleteWow! It really was made for that room and the mirror-perfection!

That is gorgeous, Amy. OH, another surprise. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteVery chic! I have an accent wall in my house too and everyone always loves it. Mine is just painted though, not as glamerous as yours! I ♥ it!
ReplyDeleteLinsey
I love how it turned out. I think you chose the perfect spot for it. It adds such a romantic touch to your feminine and romantic dining room. I would never guess that it came from Lowes either. It looks like it came from a premiere wallpaper store that designers use. I'm so jealous that you know how to do that so well. I don't have the patience for wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Amy! The wallpaper is perfect with the mirror and your other accessories. Beautiful.
ReplyDeletexo, Sherry

ReplyDeleteHi Amy,

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful wallpaper! Your room looks so elegant!
ReplyDeleteAmy -
ReplyDeleteOh this is so pretty. Definitely magazine worthy. Makes me want to change all my colors to this combination. That punch bowl is very cool too. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I guess Boston is a little too far to wallpaper an accent wall :)
Stay warm.
I love the mirror and wallpaper, Amy...they were definitely made for each other! What a great focal point!

Jane

Amy ~ this looks just beautiful! I don't have any accent walls in my home, at least not like this, but I have been thinking of doing an elegant accent wall on the wall behind our bed. I think your post has sealed the deal! Thanks for the inspiration! By the way, was this the only color this wallpaper came in? ~Stacy~

ReplyDeleteAmy, you know how I feel about glam, and I absolutely adore this! I lve that it looks pretty and romantic in addition to glamorous!
ReplyDeleteStacy
Amy this truly is gorgeous. I so agree about a accent wall for it. But really this is stunning. I bet you have to go in there every couple of minutes and stare at it and enjoy it and just pinch yourself that you did this beautiful thing. Hey...I love it. Just love it. And I'm sure you and your family do too!! Well done Mon aimee.
ReplyDeleteNann
Wow! that paper was meant for that wall, Amy!! The frame on the mirror matches perfectly...so does the runner, and everything else in the room...amazing! Wise choice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
xxxooo
Absolutely yummy! What blows my mind the most is that the mirror looks like it was colorized to match the wallpaper rather than it being a happy circumstance -- well, that and your eye for finding the best in unexpected places.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love that wallpaper and I never would have guessed Lowe's. I usually don't care for an accent wall but this looks fantastic with your chest and mirror. As usual...great job!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Amy,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right ...the paper goes beautifully with your other items in this pretty room. Good Choice to use it as an accent wall.
Love the fact that it came from Lowe's because that tells me it was affordable and that a good thing.
Have a great weekend and I look forward to the next surprise.

I sense a magazine cover in your future Amy!! How gorgeous does that look! It is PERFECT and found its perfect homes. The colors flow together sooo beautifully, you did good, my talented friend!
ReplyDeleteI love your dinning room and that accent wall is gorgeous Amy. I can't wait to see the other surprise. Have a wonderful weekend, Gail
ReplyDeleteVery nice. It gives the room sophistication. I've always liked accent walls...depending how it's done. Sometimes it's the finishing touch a room needs. When working with a room that doesn't have any architectural detail....like so many of the newer homes...this adds some detail the room needs. I'm sure your walking in there often just to admire your work.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Just fabulous and I want to see those little funky lights lit up at night too.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteThe paper is very pretty, goes great with your room.
Lana
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome. Just proves beauty can be found in lots of places and is not always determined by price.
ReplyDeleteMarriage made in heaven I say.
Love the runner as well.
Blessings,
Amy thanx for sharing these wonderful pictures! I am awe really. I also love the table runner I am sure you made!
ReplyDeleteOh Amy!! It looks beautiful.

What a gorgeous room, I love that wallpaper and the color is so pretty. What beautiful pictures, it looks like something out of Country Living's or Victoria's pages. Have you ever featured your home in a magazine?

LOVE it!!! I think I might have to get it to go in my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteI love your accent wall in your dining room! I thought I was looking at Sharon Osbourne's dining room at first. I am obsessed with her dining room!!!
ReplyDeleteAmy, your vision for decor always amazes me and you've really done it this time! The wallpaper is fabulous and adds such a dramatic punch. Your dining room has evolved over time but it looks as if it were all planned together. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy ... posting your new wall on my blog tomorrow. xo Sherri
ReplyDeleteThat wall is absolutely stunning!!! It is gorgeous! What a wonderful melding of colors and shades, everything looks so professionally done.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Love the wallpaper. It is perfect for the space! That mirror is gorgeous, too. Did you paint it?
ReplyDeleteI think I have one in my garage just like it that could use some love. Love the bluish shade on it.
Hi Tardevil~I tried writing back to you, but you have a protected email, so here is your answer:
ReplyDeleteYes I painted it...it was dark brown and I think it is some kind of carved plastic or molded plastic from the 50s...it weighs a ton. I spray painted it taupe and then I used acrylic craft paints and some metallic paints and painted it like I was painting a do it by numbers painting! It was really fun. Originally I painted it hot pink and then put an antique wax over it and silver accents and it got rave reviews...but then I wanted it in the bluey greens so I did it over.
Amy! Seriously??? This is GORGEOUS!!! It does play well with pink and everything else in this room!! I seriously LOVE it! The runner on your buffet also just takes my breath! SO GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda ;)
Love this wallpaper! It's similiar to some Candance Olson used in one of her shows. Your home in beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIT'S STUNNING! I love your style, came over from It's Overflowing and definatley following you now!
