The Union Jack pattern got a lot of coverage due to the
royal wedding last month.
The graphic is cool but I am not into primary colors...
but when I read Rachel Ashwell's post
on hunting down a pastel union jack I found myself inspired.
She created her Shabby Chic version of the union jack flag.
I loved how this came out~as I love most everything she does.
I cut out some aqua blue matalesse and stitched some
petite cotton floral strips in the pattern on the British flag.
Top stitching with raw edges exposed for that easy shabby look.

Hi Amy!
I have not been able to comment on your blog all week. Blogger would not let me post or comment plus it kept changing the font on my blog!
I love how your living room has evolued! It is great to know i am not the only one who has done so many changes to one room...my hubby needs to read that post!
How exciting that you got asked to be in a magazine! Your home is magazine worthy!
Love this union jack pillow..so pretty!!
I *LOVE* this! You did an awesome job of it!
I actually have A LOT of Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic fabric that I got at a fabric store here in the Los Angeles area that sold her fabric (they just recently went out of business), and that stuff is expensive! Luckily I got mine at a discount, but still costly stuff. I am going to dig out my fabric and put together my own Union Jack (pastel) pillow, you have so inspired me!
Best,
Kimberly
Very cute pillow. I've admired the Shabby Chic Union Jack pillows for awhile. Love your version.
Makes me want to cry because I can not sew!
I want one so badly!!!
The colors are perfect.
Have a pretty day!

Amy - It is gorgeous! Love the colors and the "shabby chic-ness" of it! xxoo Diana
I love your pillow. It is so pretty. It reminds me of bedding my mom use to have long ago.
That is such a cute twist on an old favorite. Favor to ask, my linky party is slow starting due to the Blogger crash, can you stop and link up a Redoux? I LOVE that Round Table with the stencil you did!
How stunning! Your cushion is so gorgeous! X
One of the prettiest ones I've seen thus far! Great job!
I really love this, Amy!
I could just melt into your couch using that adorable pillow!
Maybe the Brits will decide to use shabby pastels, as we all prefer them! This is so pretty and I love it on your ruffled couch. Just beautiful and yummy!
So pretty!

Although I do love teh classic red, white and blue of the traditional union jack, I am really loving your combination of fabrics. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love your pillow. I just got a light blue quilt for the summer. I'm extra inspired now. :)
I love it,! I have also wanted the union jack throw from Rachel and am looking for the right materials to take a simply shabby chic queen bedskirt and add the union jack on it to make a tble cloth! Love love love your decor and pillow.
