Snowy Yard Tour

We have never had this much snow cover in Boston.
It keeps piling up and in the last 48 hours we got 15" more.
My pretty pink swing has a frosting of snow now.
When I come down the stairs in the morning this is my view~
the bird feeder right outside the front door below.
I like to keep the birds fed in this kind of weather.
Then I pop into my office and look out to see our garden table and chairs under a white blanket.
The living room window reveals the same situation~
So does the dining room~there is a ton of snow outside!
Thats my MIL's front yard...
This is the door above the side porch on the house looking to the street.
That is Martha's house across the street. Martha is 92 years old and has lived there all her life.
Our house is a "sideways house" because my hubs built it on his mothers land where her garage
used to sit and he could only build it sideways on the lot.
Out my kitchen window is my mother in law's white cape with yellow shutters.
Her dad built this house.
She has lived on this street for over 80 years. She grew up in that house, and so did my hubs.
Unlike me, she likes to keep her Christmas wreath up until March!
I have a rule that you should have your wreath off by Valentines Day at the latest.
However, I do keep this one christmas candle in my kitchen window
until I can open the window in the spring.
It makes a great night light for hubs when he works
his midnight shift and comes downstairs in the middle of the night to go to work.
Lets head outside and check out the snowy yard.
The door under the deck is the only door we can get out of right now.
Our front door and stairs are snowed in. We live at the top of  the tallest hill in town.
The weather has been so bad I haven't been able to take down my holiday greens around the door.
I have my vintage bike ready to roll, but it won't be for a while.
This snow is sugar snow, but today it is starting to turn into icey sleet on top.
That makes for a bad driving situation...so I am staying put.
Drifts of snow are covering the granite stairs up to the front yard and door.
Well just as I was preparing to take you around the back of the house...

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOAH!

Google just told me I have to purchase more storage space so I
cannot upload any more pics! Darn it...has this happened to you guys yet?
I purchased my space but it won't be ready until tomorrow I guess.
So I'll be enjoying the snow and making a cake for Mr. Maison Decor
who had to to to work in the snow emergency today.

  4. I can't believe how much snow you have in your area! We are getting that storm today but we don't have near the snow you do. I actually had to buy more photo storage on Monday so hopefully it'll be enough for this year. I didn't realize how many pictures I post. LOL Have a blessed day.

  6. Be careful walking around out there! Here in Ohio at least in the area I live in, we were very lucky..but others in close proxmity to the west and north of me were not so lucky. Temps have dropped now and the wind is howling..this too shall pass.~Hugs, Patti

  7. Hi Amy, your photos of the snow look beautiful to me here in sunny California - I'm sure its not quite the same for all of you who are experiencing it. I do LOVE the images with your swing and bike in them! Those are frame-worthy! How frustrating about the photos - especially on a day when you are snowed in. I had that happen when I first started blogging - I wish I understood more but haven't had time to get really savvy about everything photos! Stay warm! xo Sherri

  11. We look a lot like your yard! Tons of snow and drifts. We even had thunder and lightning! It was incredible. Hubby had to miss work as the expressways going to downtown Chicago are a mess. It feels like a Saturday having him home!

I have never had this happen with Google...it probably will now! lol!

    Stay warm!

  13. Hi Amy, the snow looks so pretty even though it must be a bit frustrating at times. I wish it snowed where I live, then I wouldn't mind winter so much. The houses where you live all look so beautiful.. take care, Maryann

  16. It is beautiful to look at, I just don't want to live in it anymore. However, it is only 27 here right now, but no snow. Two days ago it was 72. What a change. Hugs, Marty

  17. Oh that hot pink swing in the frosting of snow looks absolutely amazing. I love the snow and would trade you for my Santa Barbara sunshine for a few days if only I could.

  18. I didn't realize your Mother in law lived by you. Her house is cute too.
Your bike and swing look cute in the snow. The splash of aqua and pink against the white is pretty.
What kind of cake did you make? Can you tell I want something sweet? I even started a post about it! lol

Stay warm in all that snow. Shawn and I shoveled our sidewalk and driveway today. We are both in pain now!

  20. I live in Massachusetts as well and while I don't mind snow...I do mind the ice storm we had yesterday. My poor little dog has cabin fever!

  21. Oh...my...that's a lot of snow. I have not been out of the house since Sunday. Maybe I can tomorrow. It is suppose to warm up Saturday and Sunday and then more snow is coming in. Usually, we don't get very much snow in February. Usually if we get it...we get it in December or January.

I have not had the message that I have run out of space on Google, yet. Although I expect it at any time. I'm surprised I haven't because I've loaded so many photos. I'm sure it will happen soon.

  22. Wow that's picture perfect snow for me Amy. I never get to see snow here, so I love looking at your photos. Sorry about the maxed out google space. I haven't encountered that problem yet. Please make sure that message is from google and not a hacker trying to get your credit card info.
    Happy weekend!

  24. Hi Amy,
Your home looks so charming and welcoming all covered with the snow. I love the pink swing and your vintage bike. They seem to not mind the snow at all.
Stay warm in that beautiful home of yours and keep creating more for us to see.

I still need to get a picture of my home to you but it has been so ugly and rainy that I can't get a decent one. I'm anxious to get it to you.

    hugs
    Sissie

  25. I am sure that you are tired of the snow, but...your home and snow pics are beautiful! I have to admit though it would drive me nuts as we have been iced and snowed in 4 days this week here in Texas and I have a BAD CASE OF CABIN FEVER....all I want to do is eat and nap!! Stay Warm....Cathy aka GGJ
