Aqua silk draperies, candle sconces and mirror...
These are in place, but a paint job is coming.
Here is a sneak peek at our lovely new bedding.
A washed-out pink ruffly coverlet at the bottom of the bed
layered over a white Raymond Waites embroidered duvet cover.
A sheer white ruffled toss pillow
Some blue Ralph Lauren floral sheets
and some Martha Stewart rugs to keep our toes warm.
A few yards of that Rachel Ashwell floral fabric I found on Ebay
will make up nicely into a cozy window seat

See that fabulous floral in my inspiration room?
All of the pinks and blues and creamy whites are so pretty.
So, while I figure out how I want to put this all together,
peruse the paint charts and paint the room, do a little sewing,
hang up a picture or two...

I highly recommend you run out and get Barbra Streisands's new book.
~My Passion for Design~
It is the best book I have read in years.
She's given me plenty of ideas for this room and the rest of my house.
Thanks Babs!
Really pretty, feminine, and gorgeous! I have been wanting Barbra's new book....I asked for it for Christmas but Santa didn't bring it. I guess I will have to go out and get it myself! ~Patti
ReplyDeleteReally pretty fabrics and colors Amy! Reminds me of cozy bed and breakfast. By the way, I just noticed your blog designer is Karen Valentine. I got to meet her several months ago when we both took some classes with a decoupage/painting pro. She's was a lot of fun! I though I had a lot of energy :)
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is perfect...I love the inspiration picture! I'm curious to see what shade you paint the room. I'm sure it is going to turn out fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI received two decorating books that I am going post, out of the 4 I chose. I could just eat them up. I will have to have a look at Bab's. I hear she has a compound!

Jane
Hi, Amy! You new bedroom is going to be gorgeous! I love window seats! That's going to be such a cozy spot. And those aqua silk panels! Lovely! (My bedroom is on my to-do list.)
ReplyDeleteJust caught up on your older posts! Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. Wishing you a very blessed New Year!
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is looking so very chic. The bedding is 2die4! I would love to have that gorgeous pink silk ribboned quilt! I had to take a deep breath when I saw it. Love the silk draperies too. I love your choice of aqua silk panels with the pink highlights in the bedding. I cannot wait see it all put together.
My bedroom furniture is mahogany and I won't be painting it either. I love it the way it is so I'm with you on leaving pretty wood alone.
I wish you a Happy and Beautiful New Year!
hugs
Sissie
It's going to be so pretty! I have Barbra's book - could sit with it for hours!

You are moving right along on your redo. I love the pink quilt. Like the faded ruffle. Darn...you...you know I'm trying not to run out and buy that book!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is going to be beautiful... I love the fabrics you have chosen. I CAN'T wait to see the room completed.
ReplyDeleteOoh ooh ooh. It's going to be beautiful and shabby, Amy! Can't wait to see it. LOVE your bedding. Did you decide on a wallpaper yet? Thanks for the book recommendation, too. I'll have to browse through it during one of my weekly trips to Barnes & Noble. Happy New Year! Thanks for loving my zinc nightstand and shoes.

You make me want a pink, girly room so bad! I'm loving that pink quilt. When the girls were little I had their room all decked out in vintage pieces, lots of roses, etc and it reminds me of your style.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Amy!
Nancy
I'm sure your bedroom is going to be gorgeous when it's all said and done, Amy! It sounds wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteI love what I'm seeing and can't wait to see more!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics... drool... I can't wait to see how the furniture comes out after a paint job, I think it will really pull everything together!
