Feather Trees are a favorite of mine~
I love how you can create a theme easily by changing out what
ornaments you display. Last year my feather tree had pinks and aquas,
but this year I might like to do something more simple like metallics.
I found a vintage Martha Stewart feather tree
on Ebay still in the original box.
Martha had these in Kmart stores back in the day,
and you can find them for sale online.
A simple but festive decorating idea is to take a silver tray and put some ornaments on it.
These silver compotes are stacked and then loaded
with pink balls for a monochromatic xmas decor.
A large glass hurricane or container is loaded
to the gills with ornaments making another easy holiday centerpiece.
A collection of flower frogs is a charming way
to display christmas cards for the country gardener.
Anyone with red and white plates has an instant head start
on Christmas decorating~just add greenery!
This image inspired my kitchen xmas decor for this year,
which I just started on yesterday.
Another great hutch decorated with greens
and a wreath really brings Christmas cheer into the kitchen.
I was looking for a little inspiration myself,
and these images from Country Living were just the thing!
Great ideas. I'm going to try some. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired Amy. I have a little feather tree and it's sitting bare right now. I think it's time I brought some sparkle to her limbs.

Of course that hutch with the red and white china made my heart go pitter-patter! I should go to a thrift store and buy a temporary hutch just to display the china for the holiday! Loving the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy fav, the hutch with all that great transferware and like Susan says, my heart jumped too! I'd like that entire thing for a C'mas gift, lol! Thanks for the beautiful ideas. FABBY
ReplyDeleteI know I tend to look through old pics I've saved in the past along with new pics from magazines to give me some inspiration too. It does help get the ball rolling! I love all the pics you posted. They would certainly look good in your home. I finished up my exterior yesterday and now I plan to work on the inside this week. I had a lot of house cleaning to do this morning though. It was neglected with all the painting and Thanksgiving holiday last week. Looking forward to seeing how you decorate your house this year.
ReplyDeleteLove all this inspiration! I've got to get in gear! Thanks for the nudge!
ReplyDeleteI am so behind with Christmas decorating but looking at all this is so inspiring! I have red and white china too and that is one of the easiest things to just get out and put in the hutch...I'll do it today! Thanks for all the inspiring pictures.
ReplyDeleteAmy we must have been on the same wave length today..our posts must be sisters! Beautiful post and love the hutch with the greenery, so pretty! Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas. I am slowly working on mine. Not as much this year since I don't host Christmas eve this year. Scaling back. I will be putting a lot of ornaments in bowls, jars and cloches since I am only doing one much smaller tree this year. Can't wait to see yours.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty in these photos.. enjoy your decorating!
ReplyDeleteI have a few of those images saved, too, Amy! I love how just a little bit of color can add some Christmas feel, especially with the greenery. I've done the ornaments in an apothecary; not sure if I will do that again this year or try something different. I do like the look of a bunch of ornaments displayed together.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing the beautiful greenery with the silver for Christmas, and i love it! Did you see Sissie's mantel... it all about those colors too, and is so pretty! And i think i'm in love with the Martha Stewart feather tree in the pink box...

I can't wait to start decorating after I see images like these. I need some garland though, in addition to the greenery I buy. it is everywhere in our homes lately!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your feather tree!

I love the silver urns with the greenery next to the sink! And that big stone fireplace-yum! Can't wait to see what you do! :)
ReplyDeletei like the hutch and the greenery....the black, white and green look quite festive...
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great ideas and for inspiring me ... I am always a little slow when it comes to getting in the mood to do my house. I always love the simplicity of piling up ornaments in a vessel. The last image is speaking to me.
ReplyDeleteI love this and thank you for the beautiful ideas.
ReplyDeletehave a nice day

I'm sure your home will be lovely this Christmas. I am wondering when i am going to decorate. I have hardly been home and when I am my feet hurt too bad to do a thing.
ReplyDeleteA lovely decoration. Just love the red plates!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice day.

Beautiful decorating ideas Amy. Sometimes the simple ones are the most stunning. I love that large hurricane. I could see any of these in your home. Have fun decorating.
